There were two scrub covered parcels of land, just outside Pokolbin village along McDonalds Road, that local council had long set aside for use as cricket ground and cemetery. Deep peaty gold colour. Complex, oaky, apples and pears, tempting dark toffee sweetness. Dry and assertive, develops quickly to reveal rich spiciness, combined with a hint of oak and sherried fruit. Amazingly smooth for the strength, wonderfully warming, a lingering smokiness, very well rounded. The smoothness makes 105 drinkable at cask strength, but suggest adding a little water to fully explore its great depth.
