Adam Marks is a chicken enthusiast. In his pursuit of the ultimate eating fowl, Marks traced a route throughout the barnyards, orchards and vineyards of La Belle France. He ultimately settled on the Harcourt Valley of greater Bendigo to establish his own agricultural concern in 2004. Succulent roasting chickens and ripe juicy apples soon gave way to a range of world class wines, which are defined by their regional eloquence, sublime excellence and bucolic grace. The Vineyard Bress is a place of pristine soils, cheerful livestock and breathtaking pastoral charm. The wines speak for themselves, crafted to the most painstaking, small batch vinification techniques. They are a powerful and articulate expression of fruit, framed by a soupcon of tannins, complexed by the disposition of vintage, terroir and clime... Halcyon harvests of harcourt valley»
Xavier Bizot can make wine anywhere he pleases, he is a Bollinger and grew up amongst the Vignobles Superieurs of Champagne. Bizot has chosen to make wine alongside Brian Croser's family, from grapes harvested off three magnificent sites, on two paradoxically varied terrains. Planted to the salubrious Terra rosa soils atop an invaluable archeological dig at Wrattonbully, rich with the undisturbed fossils of ancient Cenozoic sea animals, Crayeres Vineyard was established right across the road from Tapanappa's illustrious Whalebone. The weather here is astonishingly similar to Bordeaux and makes an awesome Cabernet Franc. Xavier Bizot and Lucy Croser are also fortunate to take their pick of properties in Adelaide Hills. To wit, Charles (Chilly) Hargrave's distinguished old vines at Summerton and a highly opportune slice of a slope on the lofty altitudes of Piccadilly Valley. It is here within the cooler climes where Xavier Bizot has found a terroir to emulate the.. The twin tales of terre a terre»

Sons Of Eden Sons of Eden Zephyrus Shiraz CONFIRM VINTAGE

Shiraz Barossa Eden South Australia
The vineyards of Barossa are blessed by a confluence of terroir and clime which form one of the world's most salubrious wine regions. The warmth of its growing season is cooled by the westerlies off Gulf St Vincent, stimulating vines to fully ripen grapes to the max. Sons of Eden source parcels of Shiraz from smaller sites in Barossa and Eden Valleys, hand chosen for their intensity and exquisite ripeness, enthused by Zephyrus, god of the west wind, to develop alluring plum, pepper and currant aromatics, opaque berry flavours and stealthy tannins.

Harvests are sourced from exceptional sites in Seppeltsfield and Moculta, Flaxman and Ebeneezer, yielding one or two tonnes per hectare, all are unique vineyards, offering fruit of individual personality and charm. The assemblage of cooler climate Eden Valley and warmer Barossa Valley Shiraz, resonates with a harmony of lifted aromaticness and refined tannins, around a powerful core of fleshy fruit. Vinification techniques vary according to component, extended skin contact and daily plunging to gently extract colour, flavour and tannin. Ferments are pressed to a mix of seasoned and new, French and American oak hogsheads for eighteen months maturation, bottled with minimal filtration.
Deep crimson colour. Lifted bouquet of wild berry fruits, dark bramble and piquantly spiced plum. A palate layered with ripe red fruit flavours, liquorice and wild berry characters are complimented by fragrant dried herbs and milled spice. Silky tannins persist across the length of the palate, a lasting finish of mineral, anise and prune.
