Andrew Nugent grew up next door to the great historical wineworks at Penfolds Magill. He honed his craft as viticulturalist and vigneron amongst the illustrious wineries of old McLaren Vale. In the 1990s, Nugent planted new vines at Woodside along Bird In Hand Road, on the site of an ancient gold mine, a godsend of fortuitously fertile soils and magnificent mesoclimes for stellar quality Adelaide Hills wine. The very first blocks of vine planted at Scotchmans Hill, are now in their fourth decade. Set aside for bottling as a range of limited release, single vineyard wines, they represent the first growth of viticulture from the fertile crescent of Port Phillip's western shore. Cabernet Sauvignon McLaren Vale South Australia
Exclusively estate grown Cabernet Sauvignon from the Peter Dennis Nindethana vineyard at McLaren Flat on the eastern side of McLaren Vale. The beautifull property is fortuitously situated at the base of Mount Lofty Ranges where the soil, climate and rainfall are a bliss for viticulture. Fruit is vinified in traditional open fermenters followed by an old fashioned basket press and fifteen months oak maturation. An intense Cabernet nose of currant, sweet violets and cassis resolves on a mouth filling McLaren Vale palate, layered with lozenge and dark berry fruit characters.

Egerton E.S Dennis settled on ninety acres of vineyard at McLaren Flat after serving in the RAAF

Ege pioneered the production of Mead and sold his crop of wine grapes to some of Australia's most eminent brands before founding his own label in 1971, with the object of converting the high quality fruit into pure, estate made wines. Since establishment, Dennis Wines have collected over 200 medals at national and international wine shows, twice claiming the revered Bushing King awards for best wine at the McLaren Vale Winemakers Exhibition. The tradition continues of producing vintages of the finest quality McLaren Vale wine.

The estate's Nindethana Vineyard is planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, and Shiraz, Merlot, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. The property is beautifully situated at McLaren Flat at the base of Mount Lofty Ranges where the soil, climate and rainfall are ideal for the purpose.
