The Heathcote Wineworks were one of the first commercial wineries in central Victoria. Thomas Craven was a purveyor of spirits and wine, he traded in gold, providing a lifeline to local prospectors. There are four tiny patches of vine at Scotchman's Hill, which have been mollycoddled by Robin Brockett, since the start of his tenure as chief winemaker in the 1980s.
