Domaine Isabelle et Denis Pommier is located at Poinchy near Chablis, within the very heart of a vineyard that produces some of the best white wines in the world, known for their minerality, elegance and finesse. Pommier's splendid efforts have received much acclaim from the international wine press and are featured on winelists at many of the best restaurants in France. Petit Chablis is a clean and pure, fleshy palated sibling to the bigger efforts of Chablis, most appreciated for it's freshness and approachability, ideally to be enjoyed young and crisp.
The tireless vignerons of Domaine Pommier work the land with great dedication, for quality grapes of the highest order. Pommier's vines have been managed to sustainable practices since the very beginning, they are now totally organically farmed to produce authentic wines of great purity. Chardonnay is harvested off vines up to twenty years of age, planted to clay and Hauterivian chalks at Villy, and Kimmeridgian soils at Lignorelles and the plateaux of Grands Crus Vaudesir, famous for fresh, light wines with good minerality. Grapes are crushed and settled for twenty four hours. A wild fermentation is initiated without yeasts, the active wine completes malolactic in vats and is matured for six months on fine lees.
Pale golden straw colour. Appealing, floral, ethereal nose showing evocative notes of citrus and white flowers. Clean and full in the mouth, vinous and fresh and, a light to medium bodied palate, ideal for it's freshness and youth, a fine choice as aperitif and innately suited to match with all good food.
