The Australian winemaking industry is grateful to Leontine O'Shea, instrumental in the establishment of Mount Pleasant wines, she sent her son Maurice to France for an education in viticulture right at the outbreak of World War I, gifting him his first Hunter Valley vineyard in 1921. Planted to the tranquil Shangri-La of a sun warmed slope in Yarra Valley, TarraWarra was established 1983 by the founders of the Sussan and Sportsgirl brands. An outstanding harvest of Dijon clone Pinot Noir, picked off the prestigious Foggy Hill vineyard, is assembled alongside choice parcels from superior Fleurieu Peninsula sites. Parcels of destemmed and whole buch grapes are gently air bag pressed into a high selection of new French oak barriques for completion of malolactic and a year's maturation. A generously proportioned Pinot to accompany full flavoured fare.

Bright cherry hues. Herbal florals bouquet, olives and black currant, nettles and stalk. A voluptuous, weighty palate of sweet fruit intensities, well structured, red cherry and plum fruits roll through the velvet textures, just a little alcohol warmth and depth from the extended macerations, length, linearity and juicily drying tannin finish.
